What are the duties of the Santa Barbara County Republican Party Committee?

  • Every county in California has elected representatives to “run” recognized political party organizations; Central Committee Members greatly influence political outcomes locally - for your friends and family

  • The Santa Barbara County Republican Party Central Committee’s mission is to secure the election of qualified Republican candidates to every elected and appointed office in the county; candidates should be deemed qualified in keeping with the CA State Party’s overall platform objectives and the wishes of the local electorate. If endorsed by the Santa Barbara County Republican Party, candidates are eligible to receive financial and volunteer support for their campaigns (but it is the candidates job to plan/manage/execute their campaign).

  • Central Committee members reside in their Supervisorial District and perform the following activities to achieve the mission:

    • Candidate recruitment, mentoring

    • Volunteer recruitment, training and suppprt

    • Campaigning (walk lists, phone banking, various get out the vote efforts)

    • Voter registration drives

    • Fundraise/fund endorsed candidates

    • Act as voting delegates to the CAGOP State Party organization (if selected as a delegate)

    • Regularly attend monthly committee meetings and bi-annual CA State Party Conventions (if selected to be a delegate to the State Party)
